Milwaukee 5540???

I got one for Xmas today, I was hoping for the Mequiars kit but my old man is a firm believer in overbuying when it comes to tools. I'm not disapointed at all, as we've both had good luck with Milwaukee. After searching a bit I don't see any posts about it. Anyone have one, used one, any info at all? It's gonna be awhile before the weather allows me to use it, can't wait.

I have one, and really like it! (more than my Makita 9227)

However, it is a "rotary" buffer, and a completely different animal from the PC 7424 "orbital" polisher that comes in the Meguiar's kit.

DO NOT use the Milwaukee rotary on paint until you've learned how to use a "rotary" buffer. You can ruin the paint very quickly.

Thanks Boss. Going to try and return it and order the Meguiars kit. I suspected it was a rotary which I'm man enough to admit will only lead me to killing the paint. Even though I have an older car to practice on, the paint on that thing is still pretty good. I just don't trust myself enough, rather get some time under my belt with an orbital before stepping up to rotaries.

You are welcome... and good idea to start with the orbital.

I agree 200% with Boss (as usual)... Also, seeing that you have dark blue paint, I'd take baby steps before you leap into rotary action.

Got an RA for the 5440, once I get the credit I'll be ordering a 7424 or G100, still weighing out the different packages. While I'm sitting and staring out the window wondering if it'll ever be warm again I need to get a grasp on what products I'll need. I'll be giving the search button a workout.

I ordered the DA from:
http://autodetailingsolutions.com/Po...20Specials.htm

The number 2 package is a good start. You also get the lifetime warranty on the G100.
