Foam gun?

Has anybody here used one? If so what are your thoughts on this device? I have seen some people on other sights have used them and seem to love them.

LINY,

I have one, and think it is a very good tool, but can be bit cumbersome to work with. Unfortunately, many of the folks that are new to the tool love it... but aren't really using it correctly. Many of them are soaping the whole vehicle and then washing and rinsing the entire vehicle (or a variation of that process). That may be faster, but not as safe for the paint finish.

To use it efficiently, correctly, and the safest method for the paint, you need to have two hoses. One for the tool, and one to rinse. Of course, you could have a shut off on the one hose with a quick disconnect so you could use one hose to foam... then rinse. (part of the cumbersome part)

Ideally, you foam up a panel, and foam up your mitt with plenty of suds and water.

Then, lightly use the mitt to wash the panel while using the foam gun to flood the area close to the mitt with more suds and water... then rinse, and do the same with the next panel.

This method provides maximum lubrication and "flushes" the surface, while the mitt more or less "guides" the dirt off the panel with almost not contact of the mitt with the paint.

To be honest, I've been "eye-balling" this item... (watch the video)

It looks like it might not hold up as well as the foam gun, and I've heard that getting the proper dilution of soap takes some trial and error. Still, I like the part that you don't need two hoses, or a disconnect.

Anyhow, for $20, if it lasts me one season, and provides a safer, yet faster wash, it would be worth it.

Thank's for the info Boss. I'll have to check into that. What foam gun are you using now? Any suggestions for purchasing a foam gun, if I don't want this other one you showed?

Thanks

LINY,

It's a Gilmore gun with brass nozzle and fittings.

I like that one Boss. That would be much more convenient for my boat and other water toys also.
