In New York State it is illegal to not remove snow from your truck before you travel sown the road.

You'll have to excuse RockPick for suggesting that nothing ever touch your paint and thus, never clear the snow off. Remember, our fearless leader was recently seduced by a black truck. Black is the only color on God's green earth that will scratch, swirl, spider-web, look like crap. etc. after literally anything comes near it. Why he's even sworn off usung "hard" water to wash it.

Now that I think of it, snowflakes have a crystaline structure. That particular structure has sharp outer edges - thousands of them. Now if millions of these asteroids are hitting his truck every time it snows, think of the damage! Brad, can you sleep at night now? Merry Christmas!

If you're not in a hurry

My entire family placed remote starters in our trucks and that gives us a huge headstart in melting off the snow in NY.

NY is also considering a law require 100% removal of snow from your vehicle before you drive.

I just use the remote start to warm the truck up, then I use the wipers to clear the windshield and roll the windows down and up to get them mostly cleared. If the snow is thick I will clear the windshield most of the way with a telescoping brush. I know it is hard on the wiper motor but I am simply too lazy to clear the windows. As for the rest of the truck, well one good trip down the freeway usually gets most of it. I know I am lazy, but that's why I have the remote start.

I wish all states would require that. A couple of winters ago my '86 Ranger (work truck) got hit by a thick sheet of ice coming off the top of a oncoming car. Couldn't avoid it, damaged the hood & grill. I can only imagine what might have happened if that had came through the windshield @ 55+ MPH!

Well here in Central Texas all we have is the 2-3 severe ice storms that leave a 1/8-1/4 inch of ice depending on where you are when it hits. I usally just warm the trucks up and remove from the windows and call it good. At least you guys have people who can drive in this weather!!!!! :santa:

I use old newspaper that usually I have laying around in my truck. I take the newspaper and shove the snow off the hood, and roof. I do it very quickly, as the newspaper gets wet. End result, I get rid of the snow, and the newspaper in one shot!!

lol thats the first I heard that. What you need to do is buy your self a snow brush instead of using papers, and clean up your papers and throw them in the garbage instead of in the street after you remove snow with papers!
