Has anyone ever...
yeah i did and it looked awesome when i did it but then the next day it was all smudgey and there was a haze and you could see the swirls and crap...so either i did it wrong or it sucks....idk maybe it depends on what wax you use
Yeah, you still have to get the haze off. I use a lint-free cloth to get the excess was off, and then use plain water and paper towels to get the haze. This is exactly what I use to do with Rain-X, but it would take 4 times as long to get the haze off. If it doesn't come completly off, driving at night is a real pain. I've also found that it lasts a lot longer than R-X. Quick thought...cleanewwax is great, but quick detailer doesn't leave a haze...

never used wax on my windows. when you go to take the haze of your rainX off make sure you use a dry cloth only, no water should come right off. And make sure you clean your window really really well before hand... Thats the biggest secret.

I've tried it both ways on my vehicles...I've never tried it on a client vehicle because I thought it may introduce liability issues...
The main end result was that I didn't care for the way that it looked. I've tried numerous brands and types (Collinite Insulator Wax seemed to work the best for this application) but, all in all, I think it's pointless.
One or two swipes with your windshield wipers and what little wax was left on your windshield is gone.
My advice... stick with a product that is designed for windshield application... wax, in and of itself, isn't.
