Duke/travis...

This might be a help for both of you... This was put together by the admin at meguiarsonline.com... I have a laminated copy that I keep with my detailing aresonal as it's a great resource...

BTW, I typically go with the 'inbetween' number. For example, when it says 3 - 5, I'll typically run a 3.5 or 4. Generally speaking, this is my rule of thumb...

As for Z products specifically, I'm going to let Boss address that as I'm not as familar with the new Z-pc product... my hunch is yellow pad but, I'm not certain so I'll let him handle it as he's much more versed, all the way across the board, than I am.

Glad to help.

You'll note that you don't see a 7006 pad anywhere on that chart. The reason is that you need a rotary to achieve the necessary RPM and heat needed to get this pad to really work well. The PC simply can't fit that bill with a cutting pad... Hope that helps! G'luck and be sure to get some before and afters!

Yep, that would be a good hunch!

While I have used a light cutting pad (from a different manufacturer) and a Meguiar's finishing pad with the ZPC, I most often use the yellow polishing pad. Depending on the pad, and effect I want, I usually run the PC from 4 to 5 with the ZPC.

The guide that RP posted is an excellent one... print it out, or save it to disk.

You can, but until you get use to doing it, you can use quite a bit of product. Once you have it down, you actually can use less product.

To apply just about any LSP with a PC, I recommend using the finishing pad with the PC set to around 3.

I normally don't use a PC to apply an LSP. However, I certainly understand the benefits that others find in using the PC for this purpose.

Wow that is a great tool. I'll be printing that off for my detail bucket. Thanks again RP! I'm going to try and wax on Sunday if I have time inbetween replacing a b pillar again and installing the exhaust.
