I have 1998 Ford F-150 extended cab with power windows. Several years ago Ford did a factory repair job under warranty to stop the outside door skin from splitting by the windows. The split is supposedly caused by the power window going up and down.

Has Ford down anything about this or is it just a lost cause.

the final fix was replacing the door. now its out of warranty you'll have to live with it like the rest of us.
