Stupid Question...

For those of you that have lids what do you use when washing and waxing to get to the center of the lid and the top center of the roof? I'm thinking a ladder but can't really get that close with a ladder.

Thanks

I don't have a lid, but for the roof, I stand in the bed and wash the back half, then I stand on each side on the steps and get the sides and front half. I guess for ya'll with covers, you could still get the back sections from the side steps. I'm short, so it's a reach, but it works. My problem is getting the hood in between the little windshield squirters!

So, tell me a little bit about this device.

Obviously, if you're using it, you trust the quality and softness of the mitt right? Pretty well built?

RP,

Yeah, the mitt is of pretty decent quality. Obviously, it is sheepskin, so there can be variations in the quality. I have four of them, as I rotate them and keep them good and clean. Of the four, two are a bit softer than the other two. However, I prefer anyone of them to the synthetic mitt on the Meguiar's Wash Mop. The sheepskin mitt is larger, softer, and cleans up better than the synthetic mitt on the Wash Mop.

Also, I only use the Wash Glove on those areas I can't reach (middle of the roof, windshield.. Etc.)

If you don't need the "telescopic" feature with the pole, you can buy the Wash Glove without the pole at Griots Garage and use a broomstick handle with the Glove.

All in all, if you get one, I think you'll find it very handy for those tough to reach places.

Save your money, folks. I got a Cosco stepstool (step and platforrm) that I picked up at Lowe's for 11 frog skins. I'm 6'2" and no problem reaching way over the middle of the roof and lid. Non-slip, stable platform and you can still get to use your favorite mitt/sponge.

Here's the link hope it works:

No charge for the info, Rock... wouldn't mind a free detail next time I'm passing through KY, though.

I use the Werner aluminum work platform as well. Purchased it at Lowe's for $28.00 and it was well worth the money. Well built, solid, and stable -- it works great for cleaning the top of my F-150 and Escape!

You can see it here in the back of my garage:
