New Paint job

Just became a member of the site today, tomorrow I become a member of the f-150 club when I pick up my new 05 FX4 . Its true blue but I'm having them paint the lower trim to a dark shadow grey. I wanted to clay, polish, and wax it this weekend but should I wait because of the new paint? Does anyone know anything else you think I should know about a new paint job?

Thanks in advance

Ask your body shop manager... odds are you're going to have to wait for several months before you WAX/SEAL the paint. It can, however, be polished (pure polish -- no protection/sealing action) and/or clayed with no problems.

All in all though, if it were mine, I'd probably leave it alone for several months if it's not a catalyzed finish... reason being is that it's going to be 'soft' for several weeks and will take a little bit of time to 'firm up'. During this 'soft' stage, it's very easy to introduce problems (scratches/swirls/etc..).

I paint alot and it's usually at least one month before waxing. Like the other guys said, you can polish anytime. Kandy finishes you have to wait about 3 months.
