Unhappy Bastard Weather

I just got back to Houston yesterday after being away for a month.
Picked the truck up from storage and went back my apt. to sleep off the jet lag.
Today, up bright and early and set off for a full days detailing.
Washed it, did the interior and hit it with 2 coats of NXT.
Looked lovely.
JUST as I was putting everything away it started to rain and pi$$ed it down for about 15 mins. ****!!!!

Ho Hum. At least the interior looks good.

Well... at least the interior looks killer!

I don't mind the rain on my truck just as long as I have a few minutes to dry it off...

Rain water, albeit filled with particulate because of the industrialization downwind from me, is still much easier to work with than my municipal water supply... it doesn't rain calcium chunks around here... well, at least not yet.

Wow, great job on the interior. I never knew the inside looked so good on the HD Series trucks. Your lucky you got rain! Right now, Northern Illinois hasn't been getting anything for about 3 weeks now besides sprinkles, and my grass is all yellow

You're a brave man -- with the kind of heat we've had here in Houston lately detailing a vehicle is no small feat! I've been planning on taking a few days off this coming week so I can detail my newly-arrived F-150, but with highs forecasted in the upper-90's, I may just leave the truck in the garage and pray for some cooler temperatures next week!

So you got rain in your part of Houston? I heard some thunder off in the distance earlier this evening when I was out there washing the wife's Escape, but didn't get a drop up on my side of town.

We've had less than 1/2" of rain for all of June, so we need it bad. Just preferably BEFORE the truck is detailed -- not after!

Amen.

Hey all - this is my first post - I've enjoyed reading this forum! There is so much good info.

I'm the proud papa of a 2005 XLT SuperCab (Dark Stone/Arizona Beige). Anyhoo, my son and I spent 3 hours on the truck Sunday, and it looked great. I get off work on Monday (Galleria area) and it starts raining. It only went on for a few minutes and I drove out of it (Katy). Needless to say, most of my work was ruined. I got home and tried to quickly clean it up, but no luck.

All that to say I feel your pain! The last time I washed the truck a similar thing happened

Shawn
