Just how effective is #9 applied by hand?

I'm gonna take another swing at clearing up the swirls on my truck tomorrow with the PC, but I've got sections like the C-pillars where I can't get the PC around there, not without getting chemicals all over the rubber trim. I could mask them off, but in the meantime, just how well does #9 and/or #80 work when applied by hand?

9 is easier by hand versus 80 as it has more 'fillers' (but is far from 'only fillers'). I've used both by hand with success.... You're going to be sore. Don't skimp on 'working' the product.

I would definitely mask off if you can.

I have learned that #9 does nothing(if not make things worse) if it isn't worked in properly. I have had the best success with working it in small areas, using a circular motion but going left to right to left, etc until it is almost dry. It is also easier to remove by hand if it isn't totally dry yet.

Good point Brian... it is important to note that none of Meguiar's polishes require drying to the surface. In fact, it's better to NOT let them dry to the surface as some of them are MONSTERS to remove when dry.

I like to remove #9 when it's starting to get 'gummy'.
