Plastic Trim

Ok Guys need your help on this one. What do yall use to clean the wax off the plastic trim around your mirrors and your bed rails? I'm having a hard time getting the wax off these areas that I tried to avoid when I waxed my truck today.

try using an old toothbrush dipped in water to scrub the excess wax out of the grain, followed by your favorite protectant.

That covers it up for a short period of time, but is there any good method for actually removing the wax from the plastic? Every time I go a month or more without applying dressing to the plastic, the white wax marks reappear.

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser!

Tried it this weekend and it seemed to work fine. Took wax residue off of the rubber window trim and made my wiper arms look like new! It even cleaned up the gray part of my grill. Give it a try!

Peanut butter and a toothbrush'll take it off..... to prevent this problem use 3M painter's tape (the blue kind)

I believe it's about time for deservit to weigh in on the Magic (door handle) Eraser here. In short, be careful with that bad boy. I agree on the masking tape though.

Here's what I do. First, I use Zaino products on my truck and they don't seem to build up on the plastic trim. Just in case though, I go around with Armor All wipes and hit the door handles, bed rails, mirrors, grill and tailgate handle before waxing. Even then, I'm real careful as I wax. I've never had a problem.

You might want to give GR-40 a try..... I tried it out briefly and it worked great at removing the wax.... just need to follow the directions closely...

It's available at Top of the Line - http://www.topoftheline.com/trim-cleaner.html

There's alot of positive reviews over at the Roadfly Detailing Forums - do a search on "GR-40" at that site.. http://forums.roadfly.com/forums/detailing/ Anyone using Zaino should also check over there - lots of great tips and advice
