A Thank You thread
A Thank You thread
Rock, Boss, Red and everyone else who contributed to my horrid story of the great deal on a commuter car with the clearcoat failure. I wanted to just say thank you gentlemen for pointing me in the right direction.
I apologize for taking this long as my gratitude is overdue. Between Work, School and my impending wedding time has been an issue and I have overlooked your efforts.
Thanks to your advice both in that thread and hundreds of others I took it upon myself to try many different techniques that all of you have previously stated. While my results where not absolutely stunning as nothing short of a complete repaint would do that, I have managed to save myself quite a bit of money and learn much in the process in making this thing passable from twenty feet which is what it needed. After trying my hand at wet-sanding I discovered that it is actually much easier than my initial worry was indicating. After washing, claying, wet-sanding...washing again, claying and then polishing I have gotten this thing to become quite tolerable.
After all of this attention I recently was offered a very nice price for the vehicle that is not only more than I paid but will offset the gas prices I was intially concerned over (if they stay in this ballpark) for the next year.
As such, I wish once more to thank all of you for your help as I have now come to the realization that even a suit and tie guy like myself can get the job done with all the wonderful advice of this site and it's illustrious members.
So again to all, a very grateful Thank you and I'm proud to be a member. If you three gentlemen are ever in Houston...I owe you a few rounds.
