Wheel Protectant

What is the best wheel protectant for aftermarket chrome wheels? The manufacturer says a sealant?

Any good synthetic wax will work just fine... like NXT, Mother's FX Synwax, Zaino, Klasse and a bunch of others. The synthetic products hold up to the heat better.

My personal favorite is Poorboy's Wheel Sealant. I wash the wheels, polish them with PB's Pro Polish and then apply 2 coats of the Wheel Sealant about 12 hours apart. Looks great, and really makes cleaning the wheels easy for quite a while.

I've heard a lot of great things about the PB's Wheel Sealant although, I haven't had the luck of trying it out... For now, my wheels carry a coat of NXT about every month.
