When to polish - When to wax

My truck was detailed when I bought it from carmax 3 weeks ago. It was shine up something fierce. I asked what they used and of course it's a secret. I've already washed it twice and the last time I just used the QD on it to spruce it up. What timelines are involved for doing the following?? I don't want to be doing the whole gambit if I don't or shouldn't have to.

I have the Meg's NTX Tech, Gold Class Clear coat wax and QD. No claybar yet.
BTW my truck is black w/gold trim.

1. Just a wash -
2. Wash and wax -
3. Wash, Polish and wax -
4. Wash, polish, wax, detail -
5. Wash and detail -

Thanks,

Just drive it!

Wash polish wax twice a year. Wash whenever, once a month on average. I'm too busy living to play Queer Eye for the Truck Guy! What's a clay bar?!

I'll try to wash once a week and during the summer wax once a month. I also use the Gold Class, I like the way my truck looks after using it. I hear the the #26 polish works well with red so I want to try that sometime. Basically care for your truck as time allows and hopefully the weather cooperates with you.

Wash when the vehicle is dirty?

Clay when the paint feels rough.

Clean/polish the paint when you see a lot of crud in your applicator when you wax, or when you see stains or water spots in the paint.

Polish when you see spider web marks or swirls.
