I use starting fluid, It stinks but it works and does not fade the seat.

I have the super light gray cloth seats in the 2004 F-150. They love to stain.
The dealership got grease on both fronts seats, and I don't trust them to clean it.
I used a Hoover home steam cleaner, some of the stain treatment, and two complete passes over the whole seat bottom to clean it up.
With the cheesy gray cloth it seems important to do the whole cushion, or you can see where you stop cleaning. So doing the whole cushion every time you clean it seems to be the ticket.

If you don't know anyone with a steam cleaner, you can rent the sucker if you have to.
