Is Simple Green Safe

I've noticed a lot of folks on here say they use Simple Green on wheels, tires, or just general cleaning. Is it safer than the harsh tire/wheel cleaners? What dilution ratio do you use?

Thanks

I don't know what the exact delution is but it is safe. I want to say I heard like 10 : 1 or 50:50.

Simple Green works great on my vinyl floor in my truck

My first thought was to read the label for the dilution instructions but we just can't be having any of that

I've never found it to damage anything I've ever used it on. The worst that happens is that it can leave a little bit of a film if you use it too strong. I quit using it on window glass because a film would show up after about 3-4 weeks.
I keep two squirt bottles for Simple Green. One is full strength (for heavy degreasing, etc) and the other I just eyeball about 4-1 or so and use on practically anything. I used to use a very thin mix (20-1 or so) for glass but gave up on that when I found Stoner's Invisible Glass.

Have you tried NXT Glass Cleaner? That stuff blows everything else out of the water

I often use SG to do wheel wells and, sometimes, tires (depending on the gunk buid up). I typically go with a 1:1 ratio (50% water, 50% SG).

I just stocked up on SG as well... Meijer (a store here in this part of the US like Wal-Mart (a little nicer though)) had gallons on sale. Buy one, get TWO free!! I now have 6 gallons of SG in the garage. It was just too good to pass up!!

Gee thanks

You know there's hundreds of products that can really damage your vehicle but they have directions too.

RP and RJS...thanks for the inputs. I'm just trying to stay away from some of the harsher products out there, i.e. Bleche White, etc.

That's a sweet deal. I love it when you stumble on deals like that.

Yer welcome. I look at Simple Green as sort of a hyper 409 or Fantastik type cleaner. If you would spray Fantastik on it, you can spray SG on it. Except SG cleans better.

I know of construction companies that use NOTHING but Simple Green for new construction cleanup. Build a house or retail store, send in a cleaning crew with a couple buckets and rags and a gallon of SG, and a few hours later the building is ready to turn over to the new owners.
