I have some light scraches in the clear coat! can someone tell me how and what to use to get them out! I just got a buffer and want to do it right, what product works best and what is the procedure?

Others know more than me, but I had great luck with Meguiars ScratchX. I think it was $8.00 for a tube, but it works well.

 

Having not seen them, it's hard to really perscribe a remedy but, jcv's advice is probably dead on correct. Meguiar's Scratch-X is a very good product to remove light surficial scratches and such... Follow the directions as perscribed.

Is this an auto zone product? and can it be used with a buffer?

 

I got it at Advanced Auto, but I have seen it at other places. I did all the work by hand.

I used the Meguiars ScratchX last weekend on my 2000 Bark Blue. Lots of scratches after the winter. I used a polisher and they all came out. Truck looks great. Get it....

 

Scratch-X is a 'by hand' product but, I have heard of folks utilizing it on a dual action polishser (PC) with good results (although, I don't recommend it).

So, in short, if you don't have a polisher, don't worry, you can achieve great results with some elbow grease.
