cleaning a king ranch

I have a 2005 king ranch and need to clean the stearing wheel, I don't have anything for the seats yet to clean them. Does anybody have information where I can get some stuff. Thanks

RP should be able to give you great advise with the King Ranch. I wouldn't want to give you bad information since I don't have leather. I would tell you though, I'd check into the Meguiars Leather Conditioner/Cleaner for the seats.

We've talked about this one several times in the KR forum and thus, it may be worth a quick search through there....

A warm water solution and Dove Baby Wash appears to be one of the favorite methods. Use it diluted. I never personally tried this one but several did and it worked apparently.

As for cleaning the seats, the same method will work but, if it's not heavily soiled (which I'm assuming your wheel probably is more so than your seats), I really like Meguiar's Rich Leather Aloe Cleaner. I'd only go with the Dove or Johnson and Johnson Baby Wash if it's heavily soiled...

Be sure to condition post-cleaning. This will replace the necessary emollients and other oils that must be present in the hide to ensure that it doesn't dry and crack. Leather is skin, treat it as such.

For conditioning, I have two favorites and, again, search the KR forum as we've beat this dead horse a few times (even recently). My favorites are Meguiar's Rich Leather Aloe Conditioner and LEXOL Leather Conditioner - Brown Bottle. I like to apply my conditioners by hand (literally... I spray or squirt the product onto my clean palm) and massage the conditioner in to the leather. I find that I get better coverage on the leather and, further, I don't waste product by sloping it into a rag, applicator, or towel.

(Note: Do NOT use the Lexol Cleaner (orange bottle) on your Castano leather!).

I trust it's okay for the Lariat leather though?

For coated leathers, like Lariat leather, I've actually found it to be a very good product.
