I just picked up a couple from Waxstation. It is in MO, so it should be here in a couple of business days.
Thanks for the link!

Have you ever seen/used a microfiber wash miot? Got my new California Car Cover catalog yesterday and see they have one for $8.00.

But, my honest opinion about them isn't that high. You see, I when I wash, I want the nap on the mitt to be high pile. This, in my opinion will aid in getting the grit and grime up into the mitt rather than dragging it around on the paint. The MF mitt/sponge simply doesn't provide this level of nap.
Further, the higher pile mitts will lather up better and pack more water/shampoo solution to your paint thus providing more lubrication.
On the flip side of that coin, I see a really nice MF mitt being handy for QD jobs or similar although, I don't own one.

I'm with RP again on this one. In addition to the above, I find that MF mitts don't "release" the dirt very well when you rinse them. In my mind, that's VERY, VERY bad! Natural fibers on the other hand rinse out very well. Originally posted by RockPick

On a side note, here's a great pic of the Meguiar's mitt. (hope Mike doesn't mind my using it) The mitt on the left was used about a dozen times. The mitt on the right is new one. When the mitt on the left is put in the car wash solution it looks just like the one on the right......... sure looks like a fine mitt to me........ and very similar to the Arnold mitt!

This may be a little off topic, but what what are the pros/cons of using one of those long-handled brushes as opposed to a mit? I've been using a brush, but I've noted that RP and Boss use mits, so now I'm second guessing myself. Any opinions?

Craig,
I do use one of these (lightly) on the roof and windshields of big vehicles (and to push snow off the vehicle in the winter). I think RP has another type............ not sure if he uses it.
Here it is:

The problem with most of these is the quality of the washing material. That one has a pretty decent sheepskin cover.
Nothing can put swirls into your vehicle quicker than a cheap mitt (except maybe bad washing techniques)........ it's not worth taking the chance. Until I found the one mentioned above, I never used any "mitt-on-a-stick".
I now have four of the ones above.

Mine isn't a mit, it's a brush with bristles. Mind you, they are extremely soft bristles, but it's still a brush nonetheless. It looks something like this.

I'm just not a big fan of brushes. Some may provide excellent options but, I just can't see how to easily manage a brush and not scratch the finish.
As for the mitts in question at the initial portion of this thread... They came in...
The Arnold Sheepskin mitts are everything I expected and have used several times in the past...
The 100% cotton wash pad/mitt is very poor. There are seeds all the way through the cotton and thus, I don't see either the pad or the mitt making it any farther than my wheels (if there). I'm VERY disappointed.

Craig,
I'm not a big fan of brushes on paint......... Again, washing/drying are the most critical parts of the detailing process for "creating" or "not creating" swirls/spider web marks.
By all means, if you found a brush safe enough........ use it. However, be careful! A lot of people don't notice the swirls/spider web marks until the damage has been done.
