Tried some new stuff (big pics)

Washed and waxed the girlfriends neglected 98 eclipse with NXT as well as cleaned and conditioned the leather, vacuumed, cleaned glass etc. I tried the NXT tire shine stuff and it worked great. Left the tires nice and black, dried quickly with very little residue to wipe off. I also tried the Mr. Clean magic eraser for wheels and tires (saw it yesterday for the first time so why not.) I started with the wheels and the stupid thing instantly started to rip apart in my hand. I can't imagine if I tried them on the tires like it says to on the box. Waste of 3 bucks. Anyway, some pics are below and sorry if they take a while to load (and that they aren't of my Ford) RP you can delete this thread if neccessary since it's not F150 related.

Nice work.

Use Mr. Clean on the interior next time, it will work better.

Try using some paint cleaner and scratch remover! Then it will be shining!

And for those of us who complain about Ford paint jobs, here is what mitsubishi did for her. See the run above the molding...

Yeah joe, I love the magic eraser for the interior. I carry one in my console to get the grease off of my window (a problem in the 04's) but this one said is was specifically for wheels and tires.

Heck no I'm not going to delete it... I posted an Explorer thread along the same lines...

You did a great job and there's no problem with showing off your work!

BTW, how did you like the Insane Shine? That's a product I haven't tried as of yet...

GREAT JOB! The paint is deep and very glossy! Killer job on the scuff on the front end! Did you do that with *just* NXT?

The NXT insane shine worked really well. I used to use Meguirs (I can't spell that) hot shine but I may stick with this if it works as well on my truck tires. I usually don't like the aerosoles as much as the pump style bottles.

As far as the scratch, I used an ancient technique that involved a sponge, car wash solution, and a healthy dose of fingernail and covered it all with NXT wax. Maybe in the spring I will really go at it with the big guns.
