NXT Rocks!

Thanks to all the reviews and advice from you guys, I put some NXT on today. I'm no pro, but I think it looks sharp.

Thayer, your truck looks fantastic!

I recently picked up some NXT tech protectant (vinyl and plastic dressing) and I must say that I think I've finally found a product that actually works like it's supposed to without turning all your plastic white. I first tried it on the mirrors of my '94 Ranger that has been parked since I bought this truck in October. The mirrors were faded due to the crap products used by the local car wash kids (thankfully I never ever let them use any of that crap on the interior). The NXT tech protectant reversed the damage and brought the plastic back to a nice rich gloss.

6 weeks later and the mirrors still looked good without turning white again, so I used it on my new truck. This stuff also does a decent job of removing (or hiding) the white glaze from car wax off the plastic bed rails and door handles.

I'm currently using a bottle of Meguire's Gold Class liquid wax and it works well, but it tends to stain the plastic that nasty white.

I didn't notice any white stuff on the black plastic. I was careful but I'm sure I hit the plastic a few times.

So the NXT tech protectant is good for all the black trim? I've been needing something for the mirrors and trim around the windows.

Yup. I've never been happy with anything I've tried in the past. Almost all of those products will hasten the deterioration of the vinyl. If you look at the 15 year old cars on the road, it's easy to spot the ones that used the Armor-All type crap for years. On the other hand, company and fleet trucks that never got detailed all seem to have good vinyl trim without deterioration.

Since buying my truck in October, I've tried 2-3 products (on my OLD truck) and let them sit in the full sun for a month. The NXT was the only one that still looked good and didn't turn to a nasty hazy white. It also restored the damage from the other products and now my 11 year old Ranger looks better than it has in years.

Did a quickie on the F one-fiddy this morning. Ran it through the car wash, came home and toweled the drips and then hit all the vinyl with the NXT tech protectant. The truck looks like new money and I got several compliments at the BBQ this afternoon.

Oh, I use Pledge on the dash and engine compartment. Cleans up nice, leaves a nice gloss, repels dust and is safe for most all surfaces.

That's another plus for NXT Tech Wax...

It doesn't discolor plastics and moldings.

RJS - You should give #26 High-Tech Yellow Wax a whirl if you like Gold Class. I find it to be a little easier to work with and it doesn't yield a white haze... (which can be a pro and a con -- pro in that it doesn't discolor plastics... con in that it's sometimes difficult to see where the wax is still located when removing!).

#26 is a VERY solid product...

Yeah...I used this stuff a month or so ago on mine and I'm loving it. I clayed first, used the Cleaner Wax , and finished off with the NXT. It's wonderful stuff...especially when it rains.
