Dealer Lot Damage

My wife and I just purchased a 2001 Expy XLT 4x4 with the 5.4. We absolutely love it. Last weekend I did all the things you do when you buy a car used; oil and filter changes, plug change (had a slight miss).

So being on top of my game, I take the truck into the dealer to make sure that there are no outstanding recalls on the vehicle and to have a new key cut and programmed (the guy we bought it from didn't have a second key).

We went to pick up the truck yesterday, and the driver backed into a pole while he was bringing the truck up front. Bent the left rear of the bumper into the rocker panel. Chipped a little paint, but they are replacing the bumper and top pad, straitening the sheet metal and removing the left rear glass and left rear door handle to blend in the paint without any mask lines. The only good thing I can say is that the truck is white, which is the easiest to blend in.

So needless to say, we are getting a 2004 Expy until my truck is finished at the dealer. we get a 3 year 36k warranty on the work. It just sucks that it happened, especially since the reason we got this truck is because my wife totalled her car last month in the rains we had.

yea, that does suck, but it seems that you can't blame the dealership for that. The mishap seems to be the driver's fault. Probably a young kid who just wans't paying attention. And I say this bc I have some young friends who work at dealerships and deliver the vehicles to and fro. But it does suck to have it happen to you. Sorry bout that

wow

Jesus man, sorry to hear about that. When it rains it pours. But look at it this way, maybe all the bad things with this vehicle are over with and it will be smooth sailing from here on out.
