I spent 3 days skiing at Stratton. We stayed at the Swiss Inn It's a great place to stay. They have a great breakfast, dinner, lift ticket and stay package. It snowed Monday through Wednesday, so skiing was great!

So does the water still bead off the truck after six months? That would be amazing if it still does.

Yomann,
I just read your reports about 5-star. How's this wax holding up now at a year! Your 6 month pics looked great!

The water still beads off well, although not as quickly as it did when I first treated the paint. 5-star has a special paint cleaner that they recommend using once a year after the first treatment. I comes in a very small bottle and gets put on like most liquid paint cleaners (apply and polish off). I have not used it yet, but I think the super beading is supposed to come back again once the paint has been cleaned. I'm waiting for warmer weather. Once it warms up I’ll give it a try and post some more pictures.

So far, I am happy with the results. The paint seems to be protected, the truck still looks great and I have done nothing other than try to keep it washed. I’m still getting comments on how good it looks.

We’ll see how it holds up in the long run.

Mark

Yomann,

It's been a couple of years now since you tried this stuff. Any further updates? How is it holding up after 2 years? Curious if you would recommend this product now?

I've been comtemplating applying this to the roof of my wife's Escape thinking it might be a good way to reduce the time it takes to detail her vehicle.......

Although I suspect "Yomann" is long gone from around here........

Has anyone else used this product. It looks promising, but I just can't see a product lasting that long. The web sites says that waxing doesn't protect your paint. What's your take on it Rockpick. Have you had any personal experience with it. I'm wondering if yomann was affiliated with the 5 star shine or not.

I know nothing about it other than what I've read here and there... honestly, there is very little information out there concerning it other than advertisements.

Hello everyone,

It's been quit a few years since I have been able to log in to my account. I was searching for info for an exhaust leak around the manifold of my F150 and somehow remembered my password. Anyway, I still have my red 2004 F150 FX4 and it still looks great. Well, with the exception of a few dings and scratches it's gotten over the last 10 years.

As for the 5 star shine treatment....

I have gone through the process of using the 5-star sine product on my truck. Once when I first started this thread and one application 5 years after the first treatment. The truck is due for another treatment, but it will have to wait a few more months. I have a rust hole in the lower back corner of the cab that I need to have fixed first. The rust came from the inside of the truck through the surface. The paint was completely fine, until the metal under it was gone. Anyway, I have been very happy with the long term results of the 5-star shine product. It seems to have protected my truck's paint very well over the years. All I have done is try to keep the truck clean. As stated before, my truck is always in the elements. It has never been garaged kept and there is no shade where I park. The red has not faded nearly as much as some other red vehicles that I have seen. It's pretty impressive for only being treated twice in 10 years. I'll have to post some current pictures sometime soon.

Sorry for such a late update.

Mark

Sarah,

First of all, welcome to F150 Online. Second, have you ever tried any other products? So far, both of your posts sound almost identical - and suspiciously close to advertising. Just my 2 cents.
