Anyhow Im a regular guy, just a little car crazy!!
I watch a little too much American Chopper and American Hot Rod

I always say theres good dirt and bad dirt. My nice truck sitting in a parking lot with bird ***** and rain water on it is bad dirt. Now if on my way somewhere I take the truck offroad and submerge it in a mud pit, now thats good dirt.
My truck can keep goo dirt on it for up to a week, but bad dirt doesnt last a day or two. Theres nothing hotter than a clean black truck, but theres nothing that looks worse than a dirty one. I have no problem getting it dirty and have no issues cleaning it. Besides after its clean and looking good, I end up picking people up like your girlfriend.

Wash it once or twice a week wax or seal it every 4 to 6 weeks. Clay, polish, seal, wax every 3 months or so. Sometimes more often depending on which product or combination of products I have used and how slick I feel the finish is. I know I'll catch some on using the term slick because it's not the best indicator of protection but it gives me piece of mind.
