Hazy Windows

My driverside and passenger side door windows have gotten a dull haze on the outside of the glass, and its starting to bug me. Anyone know a way to get rid of this.
Thanx

Not sure what your haze might be but have you tried any kind of glass polish on your windows? There are many products on the market for polishing glass. Barkeepers Friend, Cook Top Cleaner (for glass topped stoves), Liquid Glass and Pro Glass Polish to name a few. Just depends on how much you have to spend. Or you could just try windex and #0000 steel wool. If you need to do the inside of the windows and they are tinted, I would read the instructions very carefully to see if the product is safe for window tinting.

Good luck!!

It's difficult to understand why they may be doing this... do you have any idea?

I would definately give Wild Rose's suggestion a try... specifically the Barkeeper's Friend item. It's an abrasive cleaner (ONLY USE THIS ON YOUR GLASS! NOT YOUR PAINT!) and is similar to Comet. Wal-Mart sells it in the 'household cleaners' isle. At my Wally World, it's on the bottom shelf and comes in a 'gold' canister like Comet Bathroom Cleaner.

Mix a small amount of the BKF in a bowel and make it a paste. Work it on to the problem glass (and all of the glass for that case). Rub it in hard... polish it.

Wipe off with a saturated rag and then flush all the areas with copius amounts of water. Dry.

Let us know if that works... I have a hunch it might but, I'm still perplexed by why it's happening...

That's worthy of an honorable mention in a forum "bloopers" list...

I always use a sponge and cream of tartar from the spice rack. Use enough water to make a thin paste. It's an organic acid that cuts through almost any scum that gets on the glass. I've also had good luck in reducing the fog of acid rain effects on windshields. I could find no reference on the web for this. Seems the only thing outside baking that CofT is used for it to cure SmallPox!

My windows are the same. I thought it was scratches from rolling up and down with dirty windows. It bugs the hell out of me. I thought I was going to have to buy new windows. I'll try the wax idea this weekend.

OK, so I've mixed it in my bowel. Now, how do I get it out of there and onto my windshield? Never mind, I don't want to know.
