Question is... How often and what brand wax should I use to just keep my truck clean and protected? I guess just like maintenance waxing. I dont necessarily need a "show room" look every time. Thanks for the info!!!!!!!!!!

One more question for ya. My wheels look absolutely horrible. The crome is dull and hazy. Anyway, I tried a little bit of mothers in one spot and that worked great. My wheels unfortunately have many nooks, crannys and holes to them and using mothers would take forever. Is there some kind of miracle spray that would get the wheels shining again or am I going to have to suffer and wax each one?

P.S. After reading this thread that I just wrote ive come to realize that Im just lazy! lol!! I want the good looks but dont want to spend too much time on it. Oh well!
Peace out!
My suggestion would be to go with one of the better cleaner waxes. If you don't prep the car with clay, polish and then wax, you will never get the maximum results, but with a good cleaner wax you will achieve a good compromise. America Shine makes a cleaner wax that is easy to use and has a nice finish to it. Others I would recommend would be Mothers Cleaner Wax and Coats Cherry Wet Wax. Both have some cleaners, fillers and leave a nice shine when done.

Thanks for the reply

Thank you all for your help. I decided to wax with the Meguires #26 and it worked great. Someday I might venture out and try something else but for now I am going to keep using Meguires #26. It went on and off with ease and the truck is smooth and looks great. Thanks again!!!!!!!!!1

I just found this thread.

You can do a wonderful job with just the Mothers Clay Bar and the Mothers Cleaner/Wax.

Most people can't appreciate the extra work of the 3step systems.

Great point scott. In my opinion, you're EXACTLY correct.

Thanks.

I just spent 7.5 years battling my Cobra trying to keep it in "car show" condition while putting 88,900 miles on it and parking outside in an apartment complex.

I'm now in a 1-Step Waxer's Anonymous program now (vs 12-Step AA)

Still I counted ~10 products I've used on my "new" truck in the first week ... and I'm only using Clay and Cleaner/Wax (and Showtime) on the paint because I'm "not going to try to keep the truck as clean as I did the Cobra".

What I found was none of my neighbors, etc. can tell they still think I'm doing the 3-Step based on their comments and it's even WHITE like my Cobra was.

If someone is not going to do Shows I think a 1-Step is all they need.

I know, Heresey ... don't burn me at the stake

Hey, everyone has an opinion and I don't have any available matches to do any burning. LOL!
