HELP! paint removal.......

it was icey today and i slid into a parking rail at work. now i have about 6" strip of caution paint on my bumper. it is on the top plastic part that is just above the chrome piece.

is there any thing that will take this off. maybe goo gone, or wd40, or maybe just wax.
if anyone has any advice on what to use to get this off, that would be great.

thanks

It's on a plastic part? Above the chrome? The painted portion above the chrome on the front bumper... can you post a pic?

I'm sorry to keep asking questions rather than offering help but, I'm still unsure about the area you're talking about.

On my truck, immediately above the chrome is the top of the bumper which is painted. Above that, you move into the 'grill surround' and then into the grill.

Can anyone point me towards what he's talking about from a picture standpoint?

Is the plastic textured? Black plastic?

yes, you are right. it is the painted part directly above the chrome.
sorry for my bad description. i used goo gone and it took some off but it froze too fast. it is about -4 here and i dont have a garage to work in. this weekend i will try again in a heated garage.
i am going to try goo gone again, followed by a fine rubbing compound, then clean and wax. hopefully this will work. anyone have a better idea than this.
thanks

Doesn't sound like a bad approach... let us know if it'll work.

the goo gone took the yellow off of the bumper with a little work, and i used No.7 polishing compound to take the scratches out, then i waxed it and it is back to new, with much relief.
thanks guys.
