I bought a 100,000 mile 6 yr extended warranty from Warranty Gold for about $1000...

Just got an email from their lawyer that their holding company went broke and they won't honor any claims for warranties bought before July 2003...

BUT, if you go to their web site, www.warrantygold.com, they are still selling warrantied...WOW>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

 

Better write that company an e-mail getting your $ back.

 

I just did some reading on it and it appears they are not covering policies purchased prior to that date because the inderwriter went bankrupt. after that date, there is a new underwriter, but they dont cover the older policies.
Damn, that stinks. I almost bought thru them in april of 2003 but went with Warrantech instead because of the unlimited time deal.

 

This is why I stick to the OEM extended warranties.

 

Ditto, the other ones, though they may be cheaper are not up to par with OEM. Some have many hoops to jump through or other run a rounds. You best bet is to ALWAYS stick to OEM. They others may be cheaper but you will usually always end up paying more for them because of all the headaches…
