Unhappy Scratches... HELP? please?

Well, I don't care to go into the details, but I have some scratches on the top of my bed cover. Someone sat a box with long-tube headers on it, and slid it from the edge to the center. No it wasn't me.

I don't know much about buffing them out, but my buddy has an electric buffer. Can someone please tell me the best way to go about trying to buff them out... (how, and what to use?) I'll try to get some pix as soon as I get my camera back. The guy that painted it said he put the paint on rather thick, so I don't think I'll go through, since the scratches don't appear to be very deep anyway...

Thanks guys/gals...

If it is just a few scratches, try Meguiars Scratch-X by hand. Cheap, availible, and suppsed to work pretty well without a lot of effort.

And if it's more than that, take it to a pro detailer to have it compounded out with a rotary. Unless of course, you're good with a rotary.

Like he said, unless you're good with a rotary, I'd recommend a professional as well. You can do a whole lot more damage if you're not familar with the rotary...hence, I don't own one.
