Wash Pads

I remember reading that some of you guys use a 100% cotton wash pad...

I've cruised www.premiumautocare.com and haven't been able to find anything other than this...

http://www.premiumautocare.com/chenwaspad.html

What are you all using?

Try this http://el1snako.tripod.com/id52.htm. It's listed on http://www.tacscar.com/.

Is that the product you were looking for? I use one of these on my truck and am very pleased with the results I get with it.

Good luck.

Thanks BD...

That's kinda what I'm looking for... I've never liked the mitts but, if I could find it in a pad just like it....

I've been told that PepBoys has them on the shelf? Any validity to that?

RP I know that Pep Boys carries the mitt and that is what I use but haven't paid attention to wether or not they carry the pad style. At least you could get a mitt if they didn't.

What's wrong with a 100% cotton towel?

Personally, I don't think that there's anything wrong with it... but, I'm not going to use it to wash the truck as there isn't enough knap to the fabric to allow larger particles to become entrained in the towel whereas a wash pad does.

I still dry using 100% cotton Terry... big fluffy bath towels.

What I'm trying to do is find a 100% cotton Wash Pad(similar to what is shown in the link in an earlier post by BigDeal). The cotton is said to be better for the finish with less chance to cause 'micro scratches' versus the ones that you can get at Wally World or similar that are made of synthetic fibers.

There's one similar to the pad posted above at:

cma cotton wash pad

If that's not it, guess I'm not familiar with exactly what you're looking for. I usually get my wash mits from cma (or similar) on-line......never sure if there are synthetics in the ones from the local stores (as you mentioned), and I don't want to do the burn test to check each one out.

Really? You like Mf for other things, right? WaffleWeave rocks for drying.

Anyway, I bought some MF wash mitts. Not sure I like them, but I use them. Like a regular MF or cotton towel, there is not much nap.

I'm a huge MF fan... I've just never had any towels that were large enough to use to dry with.... that will change by Monday of next week when my properautocare.com order arrives.... too bad I didn't see those wash pads BEFORE completing this last order.

Oh well...

RP,

Wow, I'm late on this one. Anyhow, I would think if that pad is 100% cotton, it would work fine. Dwayne at Premium could tell you that, as I use his mitts, which are 100% cotton!

Hey Rock, how come you don't like the mit? Just curious. I've tried pads of all shapes, sizes and materials before, but I always end up dropping the doggone things in the front yard. After that I always end up chucking 'em in the washer for fear I'll be scratching my paint if I continue to use 'em. With my mitt, I've never suffered a case of the dropsees, and it seems to work really well.

And to answer your question, no, I've never seen what you're looking for (in 100% cotton anyway) at any of the local auto parts stores. Sorry.
