Question odometer - please help

Hello All,

I'm about to finally purchase my first F-150 after wanting one for years. I'm purchasing a used one (1996) and had a question about the odometer in a '96 F-150. How many digits does it include? At what mileage would the clock rollover to zero? I appreciate your help.

Bill

Bill,

I believe it's 999,99.99 thus, it won't roll over until 1 million. If I'm wrong, and I've surely been in the past, someone will correct me.

The guy asks one simple question and you show him a cash register tape with the comma in the wrong place?

Here is a blatently stolen photo from eBay of a 1996 ODO. It is digital, so I would presume that the extra digit appears when it reaches that point.

I would be willing to be that your insurance company or a place like CarMax could easily provide info on that topic cince they appreaise a great number of vehicles.

I do know firsthand that the speedos on that model of truck only show digits as you get to that level. eg 1,400 miles will only have 4 digists.

So I would assume that the 6th difit would appear once the truck in the picture goes over 100,000.

Beacuae we use kilometres in Canada they are all 6 digits as it is very easy to go over 100,000.
