So I Tried Collinite...

I tried Collinite's #845 Insulator Wax today on my roof. Decent stuff but is kind of oily. It definately left a deep shine and a nice, slick finish however; I seriously doubt I'll be using it again (except on my wheels).

It smeared pretty bad and was a BIG FAT BEAR to remove.

On a scale of 1-10... it was a 6.

Meguiars still reigns as the leader in my book.

To be fair to Collinite..................... keep in mind that the Insulator is not their best automotive wax!

Very true. I realize this full-well however; it was all they were willing to send me as a sample. *shrugs*

I'm sure they make great products... the insulator wax (which was originally designed for resistors and such) probably isn't the best choice for automotive use.

I used to use the Collonite Super Double Coat wax before I became a Zaino fan. The stuff really worked well, but if you left it on for too long you might as well try to take it off with a jack hammer. (I think that at least partially explained why it lasted so long.) I became a Zaino fan (with no need for the electrode implants) because of how easy it goes on and comes off. I do recall the Collonite Fleet Wax getting an excellent review as a boat wax in one publication.
