easy shine?

anyone have any suggestions on a polish or wax that is easy to apply in a short amount of time that lasts at least a few months. or am i dreaming?

or can some one suggets a detail shop in mn that wont buff all the clearcoat off or burn the paint?

i dont have a lot of time patience or skill for waxing.

anything that will cover the 18 minor scratches on my wifes 8 month old blue focus and make it look clean for more than 5 min might be worth a little more effort but not much more.

at least my silver f150 always looks clean.

I highly recomemend P21S or S100. Simply the easiest wax to use. They also make a paint cleanser which is a mild polish that should help a little with the sratches. S100 is availible at your local Harley store for $15/jar. It is as simply as wiping on with the supplied foam applicator, then removing right away with your favorite towel. I prefer microfiber. I can do a coat in about 15 minutes on an F-150. Expect it to last about 2 months.

I suspect the scratches are deeper than what a wax and mild polish can cover. For simple time and ease, a glaze and wax would work great. Meguiars #7 glaze followed by #26 wax makes a killer combo. Again, expect 2 months or less.

If you want something to last longer, you'll want a sealant I only have experience with one, Zaino. It can take very little time, but generally it takes a long time to learn the best/easiest/quickest methods. With ZFX, I can apply three coats with a quick detail in between in 90 minutes. That with regular washings will last 6 months. The durability is very impressive.

On the minor scratches, I'd recommend a product called Meguiars #9. It's a polish that is specifically designed to deal with swirls and small scratches. I've used it very successfully on a number of blemishes on my finish.

Further, I'd definately agree with trying the Meguiars #26 Premium Yellow Carnauba. It goes on super easy and comes off just as easy... one huge plus is that it does NOT dry white. Thus, if you miss a little in a seam or something, you won't be seeing an ugly white mess.

I use Meguiars products exclusively on my vehicle and haven't found anything that will match up.

There are numerous GREAT products on the market. Some are synthetics (Zaino, Klasse) and some are Carnauba based products. Find what works best for you and suits your lifestyle. If you actually enjoy polishing/waxxing (like I do) a carnauba might be the best route as you will need to apply it about every 2 months or so. If you want to do it twice per year, try Klasse or Zaino.

Meguiars all the way for me though...

I would add that if your trying to fix scratches that can be taken care of with wax, then Zaino is not for you. They do not have a product to help with that.

I use Zaino and love it, great shine last a long time but they don't have anything for paint prep or scratches. So even if you decided to use Zaino you would have to use another product first for the scratches that was not waxed based. With Zaino you can NOT have any wax on the paint or the Zaino will not bond.

He always feels like he has to add something though. We rarely listen to him when these little additions occur.

It doesn't get much easier to apply and remove than Platinum's UPP, and 2 coats will last 3 to 4 months. However, many guys are telling me that Poorboy's EX applies and removes even easier, as does his Pro Polish. The claim on the EX is that it will last 4 to 6 months if well maintained!

On the other hand, the suggestions the guys have given you are also good. Just get that paint clean, and the swirls and scratches removed first.

I am impressed RockPick, here I go and leave the door open for a “See Zaino can’t do……………” and you decline to take the shot. Those classes must be working for you, job well done…
