Dented hood?

I got my first dent today and it is about the size of a dime on my hood. The paint didn't chip or nothing. What could have done this? The heat, a rock, or somebody? Any ideas didn't see nothing laying around the truck. So my next question should I pay to have it fixed or leave it. If I swap hoods will that be a good idea. What about the cervini hood ram air hood will it dent . This is driving me crazy. How many others have dented hoods? Any ideas is appreciated.

Not sure if you've considered it but, they say those paintless dent removal guys can work voo doo... Probably around $50 or so to do it...

I'm just not sure if they're able to do it to aluminum hoods (like ours).

I just picked up a new truck last week and the hood was dented in 5 spots. Possibly hail damage for it has been sitting on a lot for 5 months. Anyway, I have an appointment, but the work hasn't been doen yet. I can let you know what they do when they get to it.

Yea let me know. My mom drives a tahoe and her hood has a dent on the front from where someone messed with it. The guy at the paint shop wanted 300 hundred to paint it. We put one of those chrome hood covers on it and it looks better. Mine is more in the middle of the hood, but it is so small that unless you know it is there you will never see it. The light has to hit it perfect for you to see it.

We had a heck of a hail storm here in Dallas a couple months back and I had a 2002 focus sitting the driveway (made sure the wifes car and my truck were in the garage!). It had around 80 dents in it, and some good ones too. The only panel unmolested on the car was the passenger door. The focus has a lot of aluminum, including the hood. Took it to Dent Wizard and when they got done, I couldn't find a single mark on it. Iwas was stunned at how good it looked because I thought it was a lost cause. As long as the paint isn't damanged, they can fix it (if they know what they are doing).

They say those paintless dent guys are really impressive but, they won't touch a vehicle if the paint is chipped in the dent.

Ahhh... hailstorms... Gotta love em...

I lost a vehicle (as did everyone else that had a vehicle outside) about 4 years ago back in Bowling Green, KY... SOFT BALL SIZED HAIL... talk about scary.

I had a tree limb fall on my aluminum hood. A great body shop fixed and painted it...can't tell. This guy was a good color-matching man.

In your case I'd go to a Dent Busters kinda place. I've seen their work, I'ts unreal!
