hands down, best wax?

what do you guys think the best wax is? I'll be using it on a black paintjob if that makes a difference. Also, has anyone tried zoopseal on exhaust tips?

THere is no hands down best wax for every person. If there was, there would only be one product availible. There are several great products with different characteristics that work for different people. If you want a long lasting reflective shine, Zaino. If you want a deep, rich look for black, Souveran is the key. But at $15, S100 is my favorite. Easy to use, quick, and looks very close to Souveran.

Hands down best polish?

Zaino...

Ok, now that I have RockPick's attention, it is like APT stated, there really is no hands down "best" wax/polish, though myself I think it is Zaino for my reasons:

I do not like to use a buffer on my paint, because I am not good enough to feel I would not do some damage. With Zaino there is no buffer required, it will not get any deeper or shinner with a buffer. I live back east, New Hampshire, so winters can go for a long time like last winter. I went about 6 months without the ability, weather, to polish/wax. I had put 3 coats of Zaino on prior to winter and it still had the Zaino and still beaded excellent until this spring with I put more Zaino on. So it last a long time. It has an awesome shine to it, but so do many other waxes/polishes.

Zaino has one of the highest UV ratings, I believe it is UV 40, could be wrong on that, but it is suppose to be the highest. With that said I am sure the others have UV protections as well.

The cost of Zaino looks a bit high on the surface to begin with, but you will find you use very little Zaino for putting coats on and it comes out about the same price as other fine waxes/polishes.

One of the down sides to Zaino is you can not buy it in the stores, it is either through mail order or a local distributor.

For me it gives the best shine of any wax/polish I have tried on my silver truck compared to others, BUT most those would have looked better if I had used a buffer.

RockPick, another member here uses McGuiers, I think #26, not sure they have so many damn numbers... anyway he too does not use a buffer and his truck has an awesome shine as well, very deep, very rich, however I don't think as deep and rich as Zaino...

I can post a picture here, and RockPick could post a picture, and APT and others and really all you see with a piture is trucks with awesome shines and would not be able to tell who uses what so If you stick with a good quality brand like those APT suggested, or McGuires, or Zaino or some others that will come along I think you will be happy with what ever you use.

I am thinking you would be happiest with Zaino...

I'm not going to be a salesman here like others have (points above to 01 XLT) however; my recommendation would be this...

Find what works best for you. I know that you've asked for an opinion and I'm always anxious to give them but, preference on wax is something that you'll determine after using a few brands.

As 01 XLT mentioned, I am very loyal to Meguiars as it's offered me a very deep, rich shine and the protection is very good. On the flip side, I do wax about once per month but, being someone that really enjoys appearance and not as much performance, I don't mind doing it in the least.

Find what works best for you. Feel free to ask questions about specific products if you have them but, it's all going to be up to you.

Best of luck on your journey.

RP

Nah, just a little burned out on the whole 'every wax/polish in the world versus Zaino' competition.

Well, at least one of us does... LMAO!! ... no.. not you.. me. My truck looks like royal a$$ right now. It hasn't been washed in well over a week and, with the forecast, I'm not sure I want to do it now either. They're calling for rain EVERY SINGLE DAY this week.

Mine is kind of dirty, maybe not as bad as yours, but by either of our standards it looks kind of crappy. I HATE this FREAKING rain...

No kidding man...

Just wait til this summer... they'll have 'no-water' rules in effect because it'll be so damn hot. Thus, we'll still have dirty trucks because it'll be illegal to wash the damn things! Bastards... LOL!

You need to get yourself to Sears and buy some of them fine spot lights. You wash like at 1 - 2am, no one around and everyone sleeping.

If someone was to say something you DENY, DENY, DENY and just say the other guy must have been dreaming because what moron would be washing their truck at 1 - 2am in the morning...

RP,

Which Collinite wax do you have? They make a bunch of them........ Jet Craft Wax, Fleet Paste Wax.......... etc. I've used their automotive carnauba called " Marque D' Elegance". Very nice carnauba............ nice shine, excellent durability, but hard to find........ although a little goes a long way. Probably about the same shine as #26, with a bit better durability. Similar to One Grand Blitz in durability. However, like Blitz, it is a "horrible dust magnet"!

01 XLT Sport,

Did you notice that "Turtle Wax" is not on the list? It's the one that I've managed to eliminate!
