Am I average,
.....not doin' so bad, or sell the truck? So far my 02' F150 FX4 5.4 has needed the following warranty work.
1. replace battery
2. replace spare tire holder cable assembly
3. replace spare tire, sidewall peeling
4. replace radio
5. replace drive shaft
dealer here, just west of Philly couldn't have been more accommodating.
truck now has 13K miles, gets about 11city, 15 highway mpg, looks brand new, drive it(should say "baby" it) like it cost 50 G's

11mpg city and 15mpg highway? That sounds a little low to me, but what do I know...I drive a v6 that get's a little better mpg. I'd say that if your having problems paying that gas bill, it's time to sell it. If you can afford it, enjoy...
Just my two pennies worth.

Mine gets 13.5 city and 20 highway. I've got the 4.6L with a 3.08 rear diff, non 4x4.
My truck has had some warranty work done. Master Brake Cylinder was replaced. They power locks were replaced. Truck needs some paint on the roof as the rain gutters are peeling.
With the stuff Dodge offered me today though I might be getting a Hemi...

My 01 Lightning with ~21000 miles gets about 12-13 mpg
around town (taking it easy) and about 15-16 on a trip and must use premium fuel...now if you play with it just forget any mileage
at all...BTW truck weighs ~4800 lbs.

Except for the drive shaft, the other probs. were mostly minor. I'm pretty happy with it, always wanted an F150 "steel horse", ha ha

I have 2002 FX4 SCrew with 5.4 and getting about 10-11 in the city and about 15 on the Highway since I installed the 305s.. I only have about 7000 miles. No warranty problem yet. (knock on wood). I don't even check the gas milage anymore. Since the gas prices came back down to about $1.25 I'm OK.
