Need help with a friends Audi's paint

A friend at work has a Audi A4, dark blue. The car has these little white pits on top of his hood and right above the windshield. He was asking how he could remove them. I didn't know, so I told him this message board would probably know. I told him about the clay bar, but wasn't for sure if that would work. Thanks

Are they chips in the paint or actually contaminates sitting ontop of the paint?

Does he have them anywhere else on the paint?

I would try to get a better look at them and if they do look like they are ontop of the surface, then try the clay bar.

Clar bar is it, if that cant handle it then probably gonna need a new paintjob or maybe a hard core buffing.
