peeling tailgate paint ?
HELP!
My brother-in-law has a 98 white F150 which is starting to peel paint on the tailgate very badly. Anyone else had this problem? Anyone see this problem? I know this happened with some trucks from the 80s, but thought it would have been resolved by now.
THANKS.

Long time, no post, I know. I been hanging out at the mach1registry.com
lately, because of my new obsession....
Anyway, I still love my '99 F150, but I noticed that the paint is coming off the tailgate, right on the crease near the bottom. I might not be the best about keeping it waxed, but I would think a basically vertical surface would not be the first place that neglecting the waxing would result in peeling paint. If it were the hood or roof, I would blame myself, but in this case I think ford's paint problem from the '80s is back. My dad got an F150 repainted after warranty in that case. Now that my truck is only 5 years old, and losing paint bonding, there is definitely a problem. Anybody know of a TSB or recall about this?
