Static cling

Hi all my truck seems to be a static magnet all the dirt sticks to it and when you try to wipe it of it clumps almost like iron shavings to a magnet. Could this be from waxing, and is there anything I can do?

Most likey if you live in a very dry enviroment that may cause the static. Try a detailing spray that might help some. I use Zaino and it works great and also helps to reduce static.

Zaino actually has high dust attraction. One place did a test. 1/2 the vehicle in Zaino and 1/2 in a Carnauba wax. The carnauba was had considerably less dust on it than the Zaino side.

What kind of wax are you using on your truck? I've noticed using a filling glaze or an oily wax can cause a lot of dust attraction, something like the Adam's products over at FTW leave the paint really oily and lots of dust sticks to it.
