Any stores carrying Zaino?

I'm interested in trying out the Zaino stuff...

Wondering if any retailers carry it at all.. or will I have to get it from the zaino bros. website?

Got a nice black finish.. .any suggestions?

Thanks
Dan

Suggestions for black: Go to local Harley Davidson store (you know, the motorcycles). Buy S100 Shine Enhancing Cleaner and S100 Paste Wax. Wash car with Dish soap. Apply and remove SEC. Apply nad remove paste wax.

Seriously, there are some distributers throughout the country that sell Zaino products to get it quicker and save shipping. I would e-mail Sal Zaino (wet@zainobros.com) and ask for the contact infor for the closest one.

you can only get Zaino online. I have used it for two years now and I would never use anything less. The price is a little high, but it is well worth it. Just wait till you put a few coats on a black car, you will love it. GET ZAINO!!!

No you cannot only get it online. In fact, technically, it is mail order and not even ecommerce. There are many distributers across the country where one can pick up Zaino, just not mainstream stores, auto parts or detailing. There are two places that sell Zaino online. One is Ecklers and the other is for Canadians.

I have been using Zaino for two years as well. IMHO, there are some products that look better for certain applications (colors). Zaino has a unique look.

You can get it at a authorized Zaino distributor and not just online. I get mine from a good friend who lives 5 min. away who is one here in NC. He also deals with other lines so its like a kid in a candy store when I go see him......

Apt, is Zaino a good choice for black finish? (I feel like I'm opening a can of worms on this one.. as I've read the many posts re: which wax to use)...

Thanks

I have said it before. A well detailed vehicle is about 10% product and 90% process and effort. There are other factors that go into choosing my products, like longevity, ease of use, and dust attraction to name a few.

Zaino looks good on every color, but some people (myself included) think that on dark colors it is so mirror-like that it is difficult to tell what color the car is. Is it black? Dark green, blue, etc? Those that like Zaino on dark colors really like the sharp mirro reflections. I prefer some other products that look deeper. One of my vehicles is black (all are dark), and I have used Zaino on it. The paint looked excellent, but different than what I prefer. It is just a preference. I am certain that if you are rather new to detailing, Zaino will make you happy for black.

Zaino does last a very long time and is a very high quality sealant/wax that is pretty easy to use if following the prodecures.

Or, try that S100 stuff I listed above. Cheaper overall, even easier to use and get, and IMHO looks better on dark cars. The only disadvantage compared to Zaino is that is does not last as long, about 4-8 weeks compared to 4-6 months.

APT has some very good information. I have a silver F150 and use Zaino and love the shine I use the Z-2. However, there is a guy online that goes by the name of Harley who has a black Harley F150 and he loves the Zaino shine as well but if I am correct he recommends using the Z-5 for the dark colors as he does for his black truck.

Hopefully he will pass by this thread and give you his input. As Apt has said there are a lot of good products out there for waxing/polishing our trucks be it light colors or dark colors, and it is kind of "to each their own".

With that said, I would add that I do not like to use a buffer, afraid of causing damage to the paint, its just me, anyhow, that is what I like the best about using Zaino, it is all done by hand, a buffer will "NOT" enhance the shine. In my opinion it shines just as well as the other quality products that do need the use of a buffer for enhancing the shine, which of course takes less time then by hand.

I can say Zaino has outlasted any wax/polish I have used in the past and that is the second most important thing to me. I would add it takes about 3 - 5 coats to get the full effect of Zaino. The first coat looks real nice, second looking really nice, after the third or more, unbelievable...

Again this is my opinion there are other great products out there, but after using Zaino I won't be using anything else for a very long time.

Zaino Rocks!!! I've got a black truck and before when i was thinking about trying zaino, i read a bunch of threads about how zaino was only good for light colors, and not darker colors. BIG misconception and it seems to be coming back again for some reason. i have no clue why though
like 01XLT said, more coats of Z5 on black will look best, with a few topper coats of Z2.

and zaino isn't all that expensive. i mean my 100 dollar order will last me a year. break that down its like what 8 bucks a month?
Plus its not really all the work people make it seem like it is. Its actually easier than most because you don't have to apply it nearly as often and its super easy on and off.

For any new wax/polish/sealant you should do a dawn wash and every year or so a claybar.

Then after that, just use some Z5 with zfx and the truck will look amazing! there's a huge difference with just one coat. It keeps getting better and better up to 3-5 coats, and then after that the results diminish per coat, but its so easy and so addictive, i've got 9 coats on right now. Did those in 2 months time back from september to october. hasn't been done since and still looks amazing after a quick wash and Z6 quick detail.

I'll be sticking with zaino for a loooooong time

Harley#356:

Damn your good...

I haven't seen you around that much and then post that hopefully you will pass by the thread for the advice on Zaino on black, and BOOM you show up...

EDIT:

Since both you and I have posted to this "Zaino" thread, you just know who will be by to add his "input"...

Zaino does look excellent on all colors. It just has a different look than what some people expect a dark vehicle to look like.

If you choose Zaino for dark colors, don't even bother buying Z2. Just use Z5. And take a look at my Zaino tips thread.
