Question Care of Stainless Exhaust Tips

Do Stainless exhaust tips have to be polished? I just had a set installed on my truck, and I'm wondering what steps should be taken to keep them looking their best? Thanks.

I take mine off every spring and polish them with a buffing wheel..and then hand polish them during the warmer months..Just did the tip again actually!

Mine are welded on, so I'll try hand polishing them. I can't get a buffer wheel in there to clean them. Stainless rules!

That's the main reason i got bolt on's. So i could take them off and buff them on the buffing stand ..much better job! Good luck doing it by hand..Being in CT. i can't keep on top of them during winter..and i have a beater for work! Where you are you might have better luck..If hand polishing doesn't cut it you might be able to get a buff head from Eastwood to fit a drill...GOOD LUCK!

I never thought of using a drill with a buff head. Hopefully doing it by hand will work, but if not I'll use your idea. Thanks!
