Question Wax Removal from Pad

OK everyone I am going crazy with trying to get the wax out of my CMA black pad. I have only used it once and in the process of using some hot water and a bit of Dawn to wash the wax out my hook and loop backing has come off yet the wax is still in the pad how in the heck do you get the wax out of the pad since soap appears to have absoulutely no effect on it. If i just rinse the pad with hot water and let it air dry how will the wax that is embedded in the pad effect it the next time I go to use it. This really is ridiculous. BOSS_429 any ideas on this one?

Thanks,
Richard D.

You won't ever get it perfectly clean.

Soak it in warm water and Dawn for a few hours and then work it with your hands. Then just rinse it out really well and that should be it.

If you got the pad really loaded with wax, then squeeze whatever you can out of it. You shouldn't be getting that much in the pad though when using a buffer.

I don't think it is to loaded I think I am just to **** about getting the stuff out. That's pretty much what i have been doing is just using my hands to work it out what a pain though trying to then get the was off your hands o well the price for perfection. Maybe i will try letting it soak next time for a while like you said.

At the Michigan Truck Plant we used to wash the black wool pads in a washing machine. No soap just regular wash cycle. The only reason for no soap was so we didn't have to mess with it. We had good results. Most polish is water based and washes out.
