I think we need a section on tips/tricks to polishing and waxing, interior cleaing, etc. Any tip to cleaning the truck is welcome. Here are mine....
1) Simple Green all purpose cleaner mixed 50/50 with water makes a great engine bay cleaner. Make sure engine is cool, have the mix in a squit bottle. Cover alternator and spray liberally all over the engine. Use a sponge or scrub brush and scrub. Rinse and repeat, then dry. Engine will look new.
2) Windows--I have found that using Meguairs Yellow #26 makes your windows flawless when used on the outside. Apply the same way as you would on the body, only applying the wax to the outside of the windows. Do not apply to the windshield, it wil mess up your wipers when it rains. Use a good glass cleaner on the inside and wax the outside.....looks flawless
Any more tips.......??

I believe strongly in all these tips, and use them on my cars and customers cars as well.
1.) TAKE YOUR TIME!!! There's no hurry! Take your time with the paint especially, don't risk strachting it and getting sloppy with it. You stay more comfortable this way too.
2.) Think about the process, what comes first, secondly, etc.. Say for example you got the interior all cleaned up, shined, and protected and smells like new. You washed, polished, wax etc... the car but you need to do the insides of the windows yet, I like to take care of the interior first, then move on to the exterior. But that's just me.
3.) The right tools for the right job, don't be using a bristle brush to try to remove tar or bugs from your paint, use a 100% cotton cloth with some All purpose cleaner and degreaser or just wash them off with a wash pad or mitt. Provided the surface is well waxed.
4.) Keep your equipment, products , and work area clean and ready for use the next time. Eveything is organized, you can work more efficiently and your tools and products are easy to find when you need them. Say when your done washing the car or truck, and you need to degrease your wheel wells, and for some reason the degreaser is laying out in the lawn. After each use of a product or tool, clean it after each use and store it in a clean area.
In my eyes, Detailing is more than just a process and job, but it's an art as well. When the job is done and completed, and done right the first time. The results can be astonishing and it makes you feel better about yourself, and your work of art. Also, make sure that the customer is 110% satisfied with your work. When I say 110% I mean more than just everything I mean every little detail of the car, the touch up areas and final details of the vehicle are what makes the car look good and earn your customers appreciation.
Hope this helps,,,,,,,,,
