Question for the Zanio Users
Thanks for all the replies. Iam glad to hear that Harley thinks its a step up from the Liquid Glass, cuz I like that stuff. Anyway, got the ZFX today, what service Carl has, I recommend him anytime, anywhere
Doesn't look like I'll be doing anything this week, but maybe next week I can do the Dawn wash and start with the clay bar

Sport, I understand the swirl analness. If I can see them in the garage under flourescent light, it bothers me. I just have'nt seen any improvement using Z5 instead of Z2 on dark colors. Hopefulyl it does the trick for you. Expect the metallic flakes to sparkle a little less and maybe the paint will appear a little darker shade too.
Godo luck and let us know how it turns out.

I am not using the Z-5 instead of Z-2, was just going to see how it works for a few coats then back to at least 3 coats of Z-2. So you saying that if I use a few coats of the Z-5 then switch back to the Z-2 it will have some effect on the shine?

And what about the Z-6?
I myself use it after each coat of polish because it gets any left over residue that I might have missed with the towel buffing off the polish.

the Z16 tire shine is also the best out of the dozen's of different ones i've tried in every way!

APT, i'm not sure if i just misread it or missed it, but if you have a dark vehicle, definaetly use Z5 more than Z2. It makes a huge difference! I've done different panels with different amounts of each, and the more z5 than z2 the better. Its not just for removing swirls, its also a polish just like Z2

As for Z6, I say skip it. It is a great product, the best I have used, just expensive. When I am out of Z6, I plan to buy a gallon of Clearkote Quik Shine Supposed to be even better.
S100/P21S. Makes the dark colors a little deeper/wetter looking. I was always happy with Z5 on the deep wedgewood blue F-150, but I couldn't get a Z2/Z5 combo to look good on graphite gray pearl. And it is even easier to apply/remove than Zaino and not as picky about procedure. Only down side is that it doesn't last as long. I can deal with that in the summer, but not winter.
APT,
Ahhhhh............. yes! The P21S/S100..... that makes sense! Have you tried TOTL new Trade Secret carnauba? They claim it can be layered 15 to 20 times! I've seen some pics............. pretty impressive!

I have not tried the Trade Secret stuff. I have not heard of anyone who has that also has experience with P21S. I guess it is made by Pinnacle, posssibly the same as Soveran with a different scent and color. If so, I'm sure it is a great product. But I have 4 jars of S100 so I hope I don't buy another product. I have a lot of Zaino I probably won't use before it goes bad. Layering? Don't know why you couldn't layer P21S paste wax. It is not abrasive. I just don't know if anyone has done so many layers of it. A few, but not 15. I don't have the time to put so many on in a month's time anyway. We'll see how this new product matches up. P21S/S100 seem to be popular lately, maybe that will pass. ClearKote's Moose wax looks promising.
Here are some pictures I took last week. It has been below freezing for about 2 months, but I managed to wash the truck last week with the quarter wand, use some Z6 to clean up any leftover spots, then S100 paint cleanser, and S100 wax. Not a full detail, but I wanted to get a coat on the truck. Needs a lot of prep work come spring, but I think it turned out great for such little effort by hand. Not bad IMHO for 65k miles, dialy driver, never garaged. This one I took after the first time I used just S100 wax on top of a couple coats of Z5. About 3 weeks after application, just a wash and QD. It was an overcast day aiding in the dark appearance. These two pictures were with 3 coats of Z5 about 1.5 years ago. Hard to tell by pictures, but I jut like S100 more. It should look even better when I get a chance to to the complete detail.
Yep. Just because it is the best quick detailer I have used, does not make it the best product. I bought a case of Z6 last Spring because I got a slight discount for heading up a Zaino group buy and I loved it so much. Used it for interior cleaning, quick detail, before and after every coat. I sold a couple bottles to a friend, but I still have a lot left. when I run out, I do not plan to buy more Z6. $110 for 12 16oz bottles = $1.75/ounce of Z6. $38 for a gallon of Clearkote Quikshine = $0.30/oz. QS is supposed to work for carnauba, synthetic, polymere, everything, just like Z6.

Skip using the best product that you have ever used?

Gator, i say definately do NOT skip the Z6. I use that more than any other zaino product, and i don't know what i'd use without it. I don't know of many people that say skip on the Z6, just about everybody i know uses it and loves it. The z6 makes the paint alot more slick, especially after washing it, makes a HUGE difference in the feel of the paint. Plus its perfect for getting any water spots off, and sometimes even bugs stuck on the front. I've used 2 bottles of z6 so far since i've gotten zaino last summer/fall. I use it after every coat of polish and after every wash, plus before every show i go to. I can go 2-3 weeks in the summer without washing my truck (as long as it doesn't rain) if i just use the cali duster daily and z6 the truck every 3 days or so. Stays looking perfect for a few weeks doing this, and i don't have a garage either. so i'd definately say get the Z6
I have to second that DO NOT SKIP the Z-6. I do just as Harley does as far as between washes with the Cal duster. You could still do it without the Z-6 but having it on makes it much easier and I feel gives it even more of a glow to it. And as Harley it makes it much more slick.
I can say with it on makes it MUCH EASIER to get bugs off. I washed one week and did NOT use the Z-6 and could tell a big difference during summer with the bugs out. They were harder to get off, same with bird crap. With the Z-6 I can take them off with only a damp cloth.

APT,
Great pics! I can see the difference between the Z and the P21S. Both look great, but there is a difference, and I can see why you like the P21S.
As for the Z6............. I still prefer to use it on Z. I have one bottle that's a 75% Z6, and 25% distilled water mix that I use stricly for QDing after a wash, in between washes, or as a final QD after my last coat of Z. I have another bottle that's full strength for QDing "between" coats of Z. Works great for me!
Thanks for the info on the TS. That's very interesting that it's made by Pinnacle. That would put the TS in the same category with the Pinnacle Paste Glaze............ hmmmmmmmmmm.
