Angry Cloudy Headlight Lens

I just purchased 1 1997 F150XL and the headlight lenses have turned cloudy. Should I buy new lens covers or try to clean up the origionals. If so, how do I do that? Thanks to any help you can give to a newbie

I'd buy new light lenses because your old ones are gonna fog up everytime it rains or when you wash it.

Where can I buy replacement headlight lenses without going thru the local Ford dealer? I think that the lenses have clouded because of the constant Florida sun.

coker,

3 places to try for stock Ford replacement :

www.fordpartsonline.com
www.oemfordparts.com
www.fordpartsnetwork.com

These are dealers that sell parts on the internet for cheaper then most local dealers.

Some members have found local dealers that are also compettive, so maybe checking around the local shops as well as checking with these is a plan.

Good luck.

Steve

Coker,

I've got a set out of my 2000 sitting in my garage that I'd be willing to part with. E-mail me with an offer.

Yeah, I've got a set of stock heads sitting in my garage too. They're for sale and you can get them pretty cheap.

Drop me an email...

Thumbs up

Try some polishing compound first, sometimes the cloudiness is only skin deep?,,,,98

I used some Meguirers No. 9 swirl remover on my old 95 T-Bird headlights and it did a nice job of clearing them up.

Also, if you have a local police supply shop around your area, most sell "goop" that is designed to fix that clouding of light lenses... its designed for lightbars, but works on headlights too.
