Camper latch freeze prevention
Camper latch freeze prevention
Hi Folks,
I have an ARE z-series camper shell on the back of my 2018 f150. Last year I had issues with the latch freezing up. I sprayed it with some wd-40 which helped, but I am wondering if there is a better solution. Heading up to Calgary in a month or so and want to be able to lock the back, and then get back in.
Whodathunkit... Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks, Arthur

I have had excellent luck with Fluid Film and there's also a product called Viscotene by Wynn's.
Fluid film has even unseized locks for me in the past. It creeps into spaces and typically you use it for undercoating which I also do. Both are excellent products And since they cling to the surface, it will likely prevent seizing of parts.
