Gasoline Question

What brand of gasoline do you guys buy? I have a 2003 XLT 4X4 with a 4.6L. I have just been using 87 Octane from Shell. Is there any reason why I would want to buy from a different place?

No. No reason. I think all of the name brands are pretty much the same. I would, however, stay away from some of the independant operators as you do not know where their fuel comes from.

66.1 is the low around here. Real easy to check for people close to Ottawa. OttawaGasPrices.com

I never use Sunoco gas! I just can't seem to get any Ks out of it. Anyone else notice that?

GAs Price in the Kingston ON. are are $.684 at the Pioneer to $.689 at C.T. The Flying J at Napanee is in the .645 range. They always seem to carve the price a bit. But, its not worth the drive for gas. Return trip kills the savings. Getting about 14.5 L / 100 Km.

01 Screw - Lariat 5.4 4 x 4 . MODs - K & N filter and Pace Roll Cover!

I use Pioneer Magnum 93. Just filled up today and paid 0.733¢. I buy Sunoco 94 if I can't find Pioneer.

I just got my Screw last weekend but plan to use Husky/Mohawk ethanol blend 90 octane. It is sold for the same price as regular here in Regina SK, where prices just jumped to 77.9/ liter.

It has worked great in our 02 Alero GL averaging 26 mpg city with 52k V6 3.4 engine.

Buckshot I could be wrong but I thought I red in the owners manual of my 03 xlt screw that you should not use higher octane then recommended unless you have a superchip mod. Check your manual just to be sure. JR

Talked to the service dept, the other day and they told me no problem. Today I topped of my first tank of fuel with about 50 liters. I'll post in a week on how it runs.

I notice it too.
I use 91 octane from Esso, but I did try several tanks of Sunoco 94, and I didnt notice any extra MPG.
I will pull my chip out when the snow flys and go back to 87.
Right now I use 20 liters of fuel for every 100 kilometers of city driving.

Superstore gas @ 65.9cents/liter plus 7cents/liter off here in the Medicine Hat,you can't go wrong with any of them as far as I am concerned but I always buy the cheapest!!!
Good to see someone else from the Hat wondering the site!
