I am thinking about buying a F-150 and I have found one on craigslist and it is a 2002 with 190,000 miles 4x4 5.4 v8, I was wondering if that is too many miles for the truck, all the pics make it look clean and he says it runs "good." He wants 6k OBO. Also I need it to be able to drive me back to school at SIU which is like 350 miles.

so if any of you guys have any tips or suggestions for me that would be great.

 

I would say that is a little high for that many miles IMO. He says it runs good and all but that doesnt always tell the true story of how it was taken care of before. I would give it a really good inspection and go from there. Maybe a compression test if he lets you. I would go over just about everything from the roof to the bottom of the tires. But the price is to high.

 

6k at first seems a little high for the miles...but for an 02 with the 5.4 and 4x4 it aint far off....he says obo so i would really play the high miles card and get it for 5k....is it reg cab? ext cab? super crew?...if its reg cab then yeah thats a lil high for sure
