boiled linseed oil?

Anyone use this stuff for rust preventive?
Need something to spray underside of truck to help keep the rust to a minimum. I fish the OBX 36-45days a year and have a good cleanin regiment but could always use some help from the rust.
I've heard farmers around here use diesel and something? they spray the "juice" with the bug sprayer.
Any input from ya ol timers how to avoid the rust?

most of the vw guys outside of california and arizona do this in their heater channels. they just close off all screw holes and fill her up until it comes out and then drain the excess out and live with the smell for a while while it dries and then it's good to go for quite a few years. i think this practice goes all the way back to the model t days if i'm not mistaken.
