installing a tailgate mat

I bought a bedmat and tailgate mat for my truck. The bed mat just lays in, but the tailgate mat needs to be anchored to the gate. Screws were provided, but I really don't want to drill holes in my new truck

Has anyone used an adhesive instead of screws to install a tailgate mat? I'm afraid the screws may cause rust later.

Any advice?

Doesn't your tailgate already have screws in it? There are some on my SD, and I can't think of what they are for. Access panel for something.

Not like in the SD. It's a flairside so the gate is different. Six screws hold an access panel, but these are only near the top and recessed too far to hold the mat.

BTW SUPERDUTYSPV, the desc. of your truck sounds good. Got a picture? I'll keep an eye out for it on my next trip to the cape.

Maybe try some industrial strength velcro

if you predrilled the holes though and used silicone, they should be fine

I have a tint strip on my windshield that say Super Duty. No, I don't have any pix. I have been meaning to do that for awhile now, and just haven't gotten it done. How often do you get to the Cape?
